Just be yourself. Do not think because your friends are already there then your life is finished. This is an analogy, when there is scarcity of fuel....the queue gets so long and unending. The long queue gradually diminishes when the trailer arrives with fuel. Never be intimidated. You may be the trailer they would be waiting for tomorrow. - Emmanuel O. Fakolade.
The volume of wisdom is not known by popularity or acceptance, but by the life you have been able to inspire.
That's why we present you EMMANUEL OLUWAFEMI FAKOLADE a final year student of philosophy with an up and close conversations about his experiences in the four walls of unilag.
1.Can we meet you sir?
I am Emmanuel Oluwafemi Fakolade.
2.You are one of the most sought out student in your time, what makes you?
Well I guess the first thing is been diligent in the primary purpose why we are here.(ACADEMICS)And secondly your habit. That power to relate with everyone and anyone fair is what most people find unique. You know its different from the sycophantic attitude that is prevalent now.
3.tell us about your journey in unilag, and how does it feel to be leaving school in couple of months?
My journey in Unilag hasn't been easy at all. I'm grateful to God for some friends I made here. Because most time i have been raised up by them whenever I'm down. It feels so good that I'm leaving....and that am leaving with a sound mind.
Where there times you felt like you wanted to drop out?
4.NEVER have i thought in that direction.
5. What are your highlights in sch?
The 1st was my matriculation because getting an admission was already becoming utopian. For someone who stayed at home for 7years and failed 11 exams.....it was a very big deal. I felt like a graduate already on the 4th of April 2013
The second were the voluntary works i did in Unilag because it made me realize i had a mad hidden charisma and that i got paid anytime i work by the school
The 3rd is falling in love on my Matric party to this wonderful damsel and leader. She is my number 1 fan.
The fourth is getting a Recommendation Letter from the Vice Chancellor alongside 14 Fasaites
6. What are your formula for a good academic grade?
I have the weirdest formula for that..........stay off the library, it a distraction. Everyone would want to see me to either talk serious or disturb because thats what i do too. Am not going against the library...that what works for me.
7. Apart from schooling are you into something else?
Sure.....i work part time with an Organization...and I am writing a fictional book which is talking about INDICTMENT.
8. What are the 3 things you can't do
without?
Hmmmmmm......i cant do without working....that is how we were raised. Nothing comes for free says my mom and secondly i cant do without coming for classes......i stand to be corrected, I have attended 98 percent of my classes in Unilag. And thirdly I cant do without playstation.....i had gone marathon on it.
9. What is your philosophy of life?
Just be yourself. Do not think because your friends are already there then your life is finished. This is an analogy, when there is scarcity of fuel....the queue gets so long and unending. The long queue gradually diminishes when the trailer arrives with fuel. Never be intimidated. You may be the trailer they would be waiting for tomorrow.
10. Do you have anything to say to philosophy class 17 and the rest of the department?
To philosophy class of 17. We are just an embodiment of talents and perfection. Right from Matric number 001 to 165, i am happy i met all of you. We are the best, even Larry Uber knows that. To the DEPARTMENT OF PHILOSOPHY....the sky is your starting points..I salute our philosopher kings... who have acquaited us with knowledge for 4 years.
And lastly to all my new friends in year one.....debby...blessing mira....ope.....michael kors.....alfa.....scholar linda and co......dj temi.......saidat and ayo.....the list is endless.
