Our leaders???
Before I start my writing I would like to console the family of those who lost their lives last week thursday @otedola bridge along berger and also those we where massacred by the Fulani herdsmen on Saturday in plateau state,May their soul rest in perfect peace.

Who is a leader? A leader is someone who leads or direct or having authority to direct.In Every country there is always a leader who oversees the general problems of the country and find out solutions to those problems,Nigeria is a country whom God as blessed with different leaders A president in Nigeria is a leader, A minister is a leader,A governor is a leader,Senators are leaders even the councillors are leaders,This makes us have leaders everywhere in Nigeria.A country that as over 300million citizens would always have a problem or the other,even a house of four(4)people there is always a problem.But the question is in this society how can the leaders solve the problems in our country?

Nigeria as country practiced a Democratic system of government which gives rule for the citizen to be able to cast their vote and elect leaders of their choice. Nigerians come out on the day of election hoping to vote for a leader that will be able to solve the problems and take the country to a better place for Four(4) years but yet all they see is disappointment and also a disorganized country.So the question I would love to ask is the problems we are facing in Nigeria is it as a result of our leaders not been able to lead us well?A group of parties containing about 5 parties came together in 2014 and decided to form a party called APC they said they where ready to change the country Ready to change the life of the citizens ready to make Nigeria a better place but yet they haven’t performed half of what they promised in their manifesto. Is it the problem of the citizen ?Our duty as a citizen is to go out and vote and yes people voted them in and all we can see now is lies and deceit.Nigeria is country blessed with milk and honey, Nigeria is a country blessed with alot of riches,Some even say Nigeria is one of the richest countries in Africa but yet people wallow in poverty zero job opportunities and this is a country where the so called leaders rule.This year alone an incident happened in the Senate house whereby the mace was stolen a country where my president will come out and say the citizens are secured and the security in the country is getting better.How on earth would someone bring thugs to invade the senate house it shows how much we still lack in security sector in this country and this so called leaders will always look for excuses to cover themselves up,I remember the Minister of information Lai Mohammed saying boko haram Has been defeated and we still witness some insurgency attack by this so called boko haram in the north.Sometimes I wonder why they are always lying to us,Do they think we are fools?We have close to 24 ministers been assigned to different post of the country yet the country is not improving in any way Minster of education and yet Assu still embark on a strike going close to 2 month Minster of Road yet accident occurs in most roads in Nigeria.is this our problems or the problems of the leaders.Seriously we need a change in this country,A change whereby we would say No to godfatherism in politics Now 2019 is around the corner they will all start coming again with manifesto full of lies
May God help us to vote for the right candidate that will take us our promise land

The hidden truth failure holds

Failure has never been a bad thing.
In fact, failure is the other part which points us towards the right way.
But many of us have taken failure to be the most ridiculous and terrible thing that could happen to anyone.
We have been subjugated to the negative side of what the term failure signifies.

Failure is inevitable as said, but we strive to escape any encounter with it. While we try as much as possible not to fail in anything, we end up falling into its trap.
As Church will put it "Success is not final, Failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts". Failure has been proven to be the promotion of the low class to an higher class.

Failure is a lamp that points us to our mistake -what we are not doing right.
It is our checkmate, that constantly puts our feet back to where it belongs.
Failure is never the worst situation we could find ourselves in, rather it is the best thing that could happen to us only if we could see the positive side of it.

The inability to look back when we fall and observe the causes of why we fell, is the basic problem most individual are encountering.
They have fallen too many times, that it becomes part of them and they see failure as a natural disaster that should happen to us as humans.
They have allowed it reshape their mentality and that has created the fear of failure.

But it is never too late, all we need to do is;
👉See the positive side of failure. We must reorganise our minds to seeing the positive side of failure.
Failure is not a bad thing but a wake up call to what we are not doing right. It is a call that something has gone wrong which we have failed to pay attention to.
Once we begin to see failure as a method of getting things right, we will overcome the fear of failure.

👉Appreciating and Embracing Failure. Many a times, when we fail at something, we get angry at ourselves, especially when it happens to only us amongst others. In fact, some of us would hide ourselves because we think that the other individuals are better than us.
But no, failure doesn't mean that they are better than you, it's just pointing out the fact that there's a better way of approaching the situation rather than the method which was followed.
It makes it evident that you're a genius and only if you could be relaxed and see a different way of carrying out the task.

👉Appreciate failure, embrace it and use it to your advantage.
Micheal Jordan used it and he became the greatest basketball player of all time.
Jorge Weah used it and became the president of his country.

👉Figure out the lesson in it and use it to your advantage. There are numerous lessons to learn from failure, only if you could open the inner eyes of your mind to look into it, ponder upon it and dig out the facts.
If you would see it and use it, surely greatness awaits you.

It doesn't matter how many times you fail, just know that at every point of failure, there is something tangible in it for you; only if you would look into it and fetch it out.
The real truth about failure is that, failing at something is not the real failure but failing to see it as a means of correction to your shortcoming is the real downfall.
As Edison put it, "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work."

At every point of failure lies the hidden gold and wisdom needed by you to access your greatness.

When Will Nigerians learn From Their Mistakes?

"Those who don't learn from history, are doomed to repeat it"-Cecil John Rhodes, the founder of 'Rhodes Scholarship', and whom Rhodesia was named after. Our fathers who orchestrated the first Coup d'etat, made a very huge mistake by destroying the Tafawa Balewa government. Their reason for this, is the corrupt practices and embezzlement of public funds in the government. Their Aim: To clean up the government. Unfortunately, Nigerians came to realize that the military Heads of state where just as bad and corrupt as the Politicians.

At this point, particularly just before the 4th Republic, it became crystal clear that the only way to move Nigeria forward, was to elect and vote for a worthy candidate. A candidate who is just, intelligent, vainglorious, corrupt-free, and different from the previous Heads of state. At least that's what i thought Nigerians had in mind. But i was wrong. Instead, we voted for another retired Head of state, to usher in the 4th Republic. It became even worse when we voted for this same man, the second time. Being a dictator that he is, its not surprising that he tried to extend his tenure for more than 8 years.

As if that was not enough, we again voted for another sick retired military officer, who unfortunately died in office. Now it became clear to us that we needed to vote for a non military officer. But this time we got it wrong. We went to the polls and voted for a Lecturer out of pity, simply because he said he had no shoes, as a child.

When are we going to put reason ahead of us when it comes to political matters? To further exacerbate the issue, we went to the polls for the 10th time in our history, and voted for another retired military Head of State. Are we not tired of being ruled by these military bigots? The amazing thing is that these military Heads of States who took power for themselves, in a completely undemocratic manner, promised again in the 4th Republic to clean up the government. A promise which they all made earlier, and eventually failed woefully. In fact, the number one thing that continues to baffle me is that our retired Head of state, who is unfortunately our current President, decided to destroy the 2nd Republic, because the then-President borrowed some billions of naira at a time when Nigeria entered the beginning of a painful recession.

Interestingly, this retired military officer, is also currently facing a painful recession in his tenure as President, and surprisingly also tried to borrow some billions of naira, the same thing the then-president of the 2nd Republic did, that made this retired military man terminate the 2nd Republic. No wonder a Nigerian Music Icon, Tuface Idibia, plans on leading a Nationwide protest next month, against our Federal Government.

When will Nigerians learn from history? When are we going to put reason ahead of us, before going to the polls to elect our political officers? When are we going to send this retired military men back to the barracks, where they belong? Or maybe we should vote for another retired military officer in the next election, and subsequent elections to come, till they have all ruled in a civilian government. We need to learn from history and the mistakes of our fathers. We need to wake from our sleep. We need to realize that the earlier we stop voting for these retired military officers, the better for us. They have no business ruling us. They have destroyed our Country, and its time we give power to Just, Intelligent and Worthy people. We do this now, and when the time is right, we as Youths will contest for political posts and serve for the purpose of a Just service to our people. We shall inculcate in the mind of our younger ones, never to repeat the mistakes of past leaders, and to always learn from history and our mistakes. In the end, our Country will be a significantly stronger position, than it is now.

Hi, my name is Ruby, I am from Nassarawa state, the third child and third daughter of the family. I am 20years old, I school at the University of Abuja and I am currently studying microbiology for my first degree. I am a girl who expresses herself through writing and sometimes music when my writing fails me. People call me a loner, I say am introverted. Though when I get comfortable with you, I become free spirited, playful, generous and down to earth. One thing that defines me best is looking good. I always want to look good even when I'm sleeping, it’s just a knack am addicted to.

My life is basically that of a young Nigerian Muslim girl, who by every standard should learn how to cook, wash, take care of my husband, become a birth machine and live my life for my parents. This is very common in the northern part of Nigeria.

But when I got into the university, my life changed drastically and am here stuck in life dilemma and predicament, I have no solution but sharing this problem to the world might help out for a solution

I met Yusuf in my first year, second semester. Yusuf is gentle yet stubborn, caring at heart, selfless but ambitious and handsome. The first time he approached me, he looked like my knight in shining armor, he was tall, pleasant at sight and confident looking. He took me off my guard, blew me away with his sense of humor, his sentence sentenced me to a love jail with him, I instantly fell into the well of admiration for him. Yusuf and I became closer, bound and love was inevitable, I fell in love with him and everything seemed beautiful, and the only thing that could stop us from marriage was death.

Fast forward to my year 2, I found a new love, I had passion for womanhood, I wanted to fight a course for women in the northern part of Nigeria to have a say and be independent. After witnessing the death of a very dear friend of mine due to her being married off at a very young age and she had no say; I wanted to be a voice for women like me, it seemed like a calling for me, so I started fighting the course for womanhood, and I was becoming a well known feminist and it affected my choice and ambition.

My father is a dogmatic typical Muslim man, who doesn’t believe in feminism, to him it was a taboo, either I follow his rules or I follow my rules.

And here comes my religion, which believes a woman should be under a man, while the euphemism word is submissive, the Muslim husband takes the woman as a birth machine. But really my life is under my husband's control, if I get married.

Here comes the conflict, my ambition & choice, Yusuf wants me to be a typical house wife; my father wants me to marry a Muslim man from my village; my religion wants me to live under my husband's iron hand. I want to be a feminist, I love Yusuf and I wish to spend the rest of my life with him, but it’s going to affect the marriage as a feminist. Do I follow my ambition or choose to be with Yusuf? Follow my father’s rule or mine?
