Some people are born great, some people become great, either ways - greatness lies inside our DNA's . For some It's easy to find, for some you need to vigorously search for it.
We present to the department of philosophy, a 300l philosophy student who has searched for greatness, Mr Emmanuel Azenabor, the Brainbox behind the name Azenabor.
He explains his road to greatness, with his Witty and domineering personality, Emmanuel Azenabor as differentiated himself amongst equal.
With a lot of credentials to his pro folio we get up and close with the brain of Brainbox Azenabor.
1.Tell us who Emmanuel Azenabor is?
ANS: I'm a normal young Nigerian who is scared of not making his mother proud(laughs). Actually, I'm just like every other ambitious African who is passion-driven and believes in aiming far higher than one's level.
I'm the second of three children and my parents are a mix of Educationists and Militarism. I'm a penultimate year Student of the University of Lagos, department of Philosophy. I'm an On-air-presenter on UNILAG fm, Digits online radio & Dove TV. I'm also a writer for SaharaReporters, a columnist with the Sun newspapers, authored a couple of stories and also a PR expert.
I've held a couple of Leadership posts such as the President of the National Association of Edo State Students-UNILAG/Lagos zone(current), Regional Head - African Young Leaders forum(West Africa) amongst others.
Finally, I'm the C.E.O, Brainbox Nigeria, a popular Media/PR/Events consultancy outfit.
2.people see you as a disciplined, outspoken, bold man who believes in his guts, what do you think?
ANS: I'd say I'm someone who believes in the ideal society where no one's voice is stifled. I also believe in personal determination and self-development.
3.The name Brainbox, what's the idea behind the name, and is it in anyway a media company?
ANS: I actually got the nickname while in Secondary school. I got double promotions then and still topped the class. So the Principal called me that name while addressing morning assembly and the name stuck since then.
Yes, it's the name of my outfit which specializes in Media, PR, and Events consultancy.
4. You are a bunch of talent, a writer, O. A. P, Student leader and so on, tell us about how you abt to joggle it with sch activities
ANS: A bunch of talents? I'm flattered. I believe no matter how much activities you're into, what matters is your personal zeal to tick them all right. When you have that inner drive, time management and sacrifices won't be a problem. I used to have issues especially while maintaining a good CGPA but I was able to surmount that.
5 what is that one thing nobody knows about you?
ANS: I'm a very shy fellow. Due to the fact that I debate, engage in public speaking and present on air, people think I'm very social. Yes, I'm outspoken but I can be very shy, especially with the opposite gender. Most people however mistake it for arrogance.
6 . some controversies happened during the last NAPS elections, which got you disqualified, wanna shed a little light on this?
ANS: I get to answer this question almost daily. Yes, I got disqualified despite winning the elections with a wide margin. But, I don't want to go into details. I had issues with the Student Affairs Division and I would prefer it stays low. I'm deeply sorry...
7.what is your future in your political career in unilag?
ANS; Since life goes beyond the confines of this enviable institution, I won't restrict my political career to it. I certainly have some other ambitions in School but I also want to help others realise theirs too; not godfatherism though. But outside of School, I intend running for my district's senatorial position in the the 2027 elections. I see myself ending up as the Governor of Edo State.
8.what does it take to be successful?
ANS: Vision, determination and God. You should have a target(vision) as well as work towards it zealously(determination). The GOD factor can't be overemphasized.
9. What does it take to be successful academically?
ANS: The same Vision, determination and God. If your vision is coming out with top grades, then you strive assiduously towards it. One major thing here is that you should know what works for you. Some assimilate more at all-night reading sessions while some do so during the day. I don't fancy reading in public places. While others go for 'overnight', I prefer reading in the comfort of my hostel. Then, remember that "...the weapons of our warfare are not carnal". You cannot place God aside.
10. Do you have people you look up to?
ANS: Basically, I look up to anyone who struggled and defied all odds to become successful,
11. Single, divorce, married or dating which are you?
ANS: I'm married to Jesus(laughs). The truth is this is not the time for me to engage in relationship frivolities. I've got better things to focus on.
12. What do you do for leisure?
ANS I daydream. Seriously, I daydream about my future and also relish past experiences. Apart from this, I sleep. This is because I rarely have time to sleep so I seize the opportunity to do so.
13. Biggest achievement yet?
ANS Ah! I can't pick the biggest oh. I won a Pan-African literary competition, I've interviewed some eminent personalities such as Prof. Wole Soyinka, Teju Baby face, B.R Fashola. I've also featured in a BBC-Africa program while at an international conference in Ghana. There are a lot more that I can't remember.
14. Any last words
ANS Any worth doing, is worth doing well
