TARDY DREAMS
Right here in this town
Lay in mounds a bright light
All by blights made brown
Surviving shows of might by the seated-tight
Taking jobs that only bring down
All in pretext for a daily diet.
Right here in this town
Lies the supposed elite
In ponds, almost being ground
As nuts starved of a bite
Confined deep down and underground
Growing to be perched upon by flight.
Right here in this town
Lies the aspirations we write
Clear on tablets as passed down
Struggle still does the wavering kite.
Though afflictions abound
We run along, smile, for no hindering in sight.
Right here in this town
Lies the dream the world yet reproves
Tarry it does. With a countdown
When the tides all at ease
We forge ahead on a rebound
At this appointed time, here it comes
Here in this town still
With no bino-maps of two
Thine eyes surely see us still
Here we rise on fours to two
With twitters on both sides, the revolution
Behold, the cup's runneth over.
